Today is the American Diabetes Association Alert Day

March 24 the Diabetes Association Alert Day.

Diabetes currently affects nearly 29 million Americans which is about 10% of the American population and 1.25 million children have type I diabetes.

Diabetes is one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the U.S.

Diabetes occurs when the blood sugar level rises above the normal level.

Signs and symptoms of diabetes:

High blood glucose

High levels of sugar in the urine

Frequent urination

Increased thirst
