Which type of non-fiction reader are you?
I read an article recently, that talked about the two types of non-fiction reader: Narrative and Expository.
A narrative reader enjoys a nonfiction book that tells a story. An expository reader prefers, "just the facts". They do not necessarily want to make a connection with the characters in the book.
I am an expository reader. I like "just the facts." This may be due to my science background. I do not like a lot of imagery or flowery descriptions. I image this is why I enjoy writing my short, concise 16 page books.
The article I am referring to is a short and interesting read. https://www.slj.com/story/two-kinds-of-readers-two-kinds-of-nonfiction
This chart is in the article written by Melissa Stewart in the School Library Journal (SLJ)

By Melissa Stewart
Many young readers are expository readers. These readers read to learn.
The books I write are for this type of reader. I think the rhyming words, short story and coloring pages all add to the readers experience.
One last item; soon these books will be ready to ship. I will have pricing soon.
As always, thank you for your support!
