Helen Osborne (https://healthliteracy.com/) founded this organization in 1999. She has worked hard over the years as an advocate for the patient. She realized a connection between health literacy and health outcomes. So, thank you Helen for your tireless efforts.

Piggybacking on this topic of health literacy I must say that health literacy is one of the reasons I write my books. The books are for a reading level for early elementary age children. Parents and children alike can read these books together and learn the basics of some issues they may be facing. The books are for the emerging reader, the ones that have begun learning to read and who now are reading to learn.
