This is the last day of March so the end of observing Colorectal Cancer Month. However, this doesn't mean we forget about Colon health until March 2016 :)
Again, this is just a reminder that Colorectal Cancer is serious and is the second leading cause of death in the U.S. It is in the top five of the most common types of cancer (Colorectal Cancer is actually the fourth most common cancer in the U.S.) Screening for this type of cancer is imperative. Sixty percent (60%) of colorectal related deaths could be prevented if everyone 50 years and old were screened (per the US Dept of Health and Human Services).
A few healthy tips from the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services are as follows:
Get screened starting at age 50
Avoid smoking and second hand smoke
Exercise and eat a well balanced diet
Check out the U.S. Dept of Agriculture's activity tracker at https://www.supertracker.usda.gov/physicalactivitytracker.aspx
Thanks for visiting.
