This week is National Public Health Week, April 6-12 2015.
The U.S. spends a great deal of money on healthcare yet our public health doesn't reflect the amount of money spent. So to raise awareness about our health this is National Public Health Week.
There are daily themes for this week.
Monday: Raising the Grade-Despite outstanding doctors, medical facilities, pharmaceuticals and other components of the U.S. healthcare system, the US still has poor health when compared to other countries.
Tuesday: Starting from Zip: your zip code that is. Your zip code may determine your access to good, affordable healthcare. There does appear to be disparities across communities.
Wednesday: Building Momentum-Companies and individual leaders are stepping up to hold the U.S. to a higher commitment to public health.
Thursday-Building Broader Connections-We all need to work together to become a healthier nation. Elected officials, public health officials, educators, private companies and public companies need to work together to create a healthier nation.
Friday-Building 20 years of success-This day the public health community can come together to celebrate the accomplishments of the past 20 years. Plus look ahead to the future and how to improve healthcare outcomes.
