February 2016
There were a couple of Observance Days that we had this past month. I would love to spend much more time diving into each special observance Day, Week or Month. However, there isn't time to spend on just one topic. The goal of this blog is simply to bring a health care topic to the forefront. I could certainly reiterate the information that I find on the topics I cover from a website. However, what I want to write about my not be what you need or want to read. So I just write a short blog and let you do the rest.
Like my books these blogs are simple and are written to create talking points.
The Days that we observed in February were:
February 4 World Cancer Day
February 5 Wear Red Day
Feb 6 Give Kids a Smile Day
Feb 14 National Donor Day
I did not tweet anything about Donor Day. I apologize. However, April is National Donate Life Month. I will briefly highlight this topic in April.
February I highlighted American Heart Month and Children's Dental Health Month. One more topic I want to write about is National Eating Disorder Week February 21-27 2016.
What are Eating disorders??
They are real and complex medical and psychiatric illnesses that can have serious health consequences. It is estimated that 20 million women and 10 million men suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder in their lifetime. This includes anorexia nervosa, Bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and other specific feeding or eating disorders (OSFED)
