Why we do what we do

We hope you are having a great July!!

As you can see it has been a few weeks since our last blog post.

We have been busy creating an interactive book and a simple game on a site called Scratch. Scratch is a computer coding learning tool developed by MIT. It was really designed for children but for the non-coding world, this gives great insight into coding. We are still learning how to create what we want. Karen took a class on Scratch last year and received her certificate in Scratch codingJ

Our main goal with the books is to help educate children (and their parents) about illnesses and other healthcare topics without giving advice or making recommendations (your healthcare provider is your best resource)

Our books give a general concept about a topic. We think children are swamped with facts during school. Kids are tested and retested about what they know. There is little time to image, create and day dream. Our books are simple rhyming stories with simple illustrations so kids can create their own vision of the world they are reading about in our books. We can't be experts on everything but if we have a general idea about a topic, sometimes that is all we need.

So for now as you read our books don't worry about funny sounding words or long words just enjoy a rhyming story. And you might just learn about diabetes or vaccinations or sunscreens.

Happy reading…..

PS We are working on our next books about antibiotics AND creating coloring books
