July 2016 Juvenile Arthritis Month
This past May we observed Arthritis Month.
However, July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month.
Juvenile Arthritis is used to describe several autoimmune and inflammatory illnesses the can develop in people under the age of 18.
Nearly 300,000 children have Juvenile Arthritis and related diseases. And just what are the "related" diseases??
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
Juvenile dermatomyositis
Juvenile lupus
Juvenile scleroderma
Kawasaki disease
Mixed connective tissue disease
Fibromyalgia
These illnesses share common symptoms such as pain, joint swelling and warmth but they also have distinct symptoms, too.
The website below gives a quick definition of each of the above illnesses.

I hope to write a rhyming book about autoimmune diseases in the months ahead. Stay tuned.
And as always, thanks for your support.
