This time of year is typically peak season for allergies and asthma in the U.S.
A few facts:
Asthma affects more than 24 million Americans and more than 6 million children under the age of 18 years old have asthma.
Ten people a day die from asthma.
Allergies to pollen, latex and more is raising. Currently more the 50 million Americans have allergies.
1 in 10 U.S. children have asthma
There is no cure for asthma. The best way to prevent symptoms is to stay away from triggers.
Common asthma symptoms are: coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing and chest tightness.
Asthma is the top reason that children miss school.
Showering at night helps remove pollen from your hair.
Allergies are one of the most common chronic diseases.
An allergy happens when the body’s immune system sees a substance as harmful and overreacts to it.
