March 11 2018

This month has several issues we want to bring to your attention. Why? Because many times we don’t think about something until it affects you/me personally.

The week of March 5-9 2018 is National School Breakfast Week. #NSBW18

This year’s theme is “I heart school Breakfast” The idea behind the campaign is to highlight your community’s school breakfast program. Breakfast is a very important meal and some kids do not eat breakfast at home. The school breakfast program is a great alternative to breakfast at home.

The week of March 11-17 2018 is Sleep Awareness Week. This year’s theme is “Begin With Sleep”. Or #YourDayBeginsWithSleep

Why is sleep important?

Did you know that:

You are better able to focus and learn after a good night’s sleep? If you can focus longer this helps with learning something and remembering what you learned.

You feel happier. When you are sleep deprived your emotions are harder to control thus things like stress are more difficult to cope with.

You are move productive. You can work faster and efficiently.

You are less hungry. Sleeps helps regulate two hormones. One hormone makes you feel hungry and the other hormone makes you feel full.

You won’t get sick as often if you get plenty of sleep.
