September 2020
Typically, we have started a new school year (or close to starting), watched a few Fall sporting events such as volleyball, soccer or football and enjoyed hanging out with friends in September. However, as you know, this year is anything but typical.
We truly hope this blog finds you well. We are thinking of you, our reader, as this crazy year continues. This pandemic is a somber reminder of just how fragile life can be.
Unfortunately, this pandemic has seemingly put many of our healthcare issues on the back burner. The pandemic is something we need to address but so our some of our other healthcare issues. Please maintain your normal doctor’s visits if possible.
There are many health topics to highlight in September. I will not mention them all, though. Here are just a few month-long awareness’s:
Childhood Cancer Awareness
National Childhood Obesity
National Head lice Prevention Month
National Sickle Cell Month (There is a day in June called Sickle Cell Day)
Fruits and Veggies—More matter
Please take a few minutes to briefly research one or two of these issues.
There are a few Awareness Days, too. These days just bring awareness to certain healthcare issues on that particular day.
National Celiac Disease Day Sept 13, 2020
World Suicide Day-------------Sept 10, 2020
World Rabies Day--------------Sept 28, 2020
World Heart Day---------------Sept 29 2020.
Please continue to practice safe distancing and wear face masks. See you in October.
